2017 Real Estate Report and 2018 Prospects!

19 Δεκεμβρίου 2017

With the holidays approaching, it's time for us to review 2017's real estate trends.

For residential real estate in the Grand Duchy, 2017 was marked by higher price increases than in other years. We recorded a 6% increase from 2016 (according to the Housing Observatory). We also noted an increase in the number of housing units planned and a slight increase in the number of housing units built.

The Social Housing Agency's (AIS) report is rather positive, with an increase of around 30% in the real estate properties offered in 2017. At year end, AIS has 470 social housing units that are still vacant.

What trends will we see in 2018?

According to the analysis done by several leaders in the real estate industry, these trends will continue in 2018.

As a result of Brexit, many foreign companies have expressed their desire to establish themselves on Luxembourg soil, which will likely affect 2018 real estate prices. And because of the 2018 general election, several housing issues will be raised and studied.
