A fairer allocation of the subsidy interest

Since the 1st January of 2012, the State has made some improvements in terms of grant award interest, to strengthen its financial support to homeowners whose household income is modest.

Indeed, the base rate (more commonly known as "social rate"), which amounted to 2% recently, and was amended in compensation, the maximum rate of interest subsidy was increased by 0.45%. Therefore, obtaining the grant of interest do not longer depend on the granting of a mortgage rate capital through its credit facility, which makes the allocation of the interest subsidy and allows more accurate a greater number of households eligible for individual assistance to access this housing. Applicants for a grant of interest, the case was denied because they did not have a social rate can now reapply to the Department for housing assistance.

To calculate the interest subsidy, mortgages are considered up to 175'000 euros. The rate of interest subsidy, which is determined by income and family status of beneficiaries, may vary between 0.575% and 2.45%. In case of accumulation of the subsidy and interest subsidy, these two aid may not exceed the rate of the loan rate ceiling set respectively to 3.45%.

Finally, as a reminder: since the 3rd February of 2009, the amount taken into account as part of the grant and interest subsidy was increased by 50'000 euros for investment in sanitation energy and energy renewable.
