University accommodation

For the 2016/2017 academic year, the University is offering just under 1,000 housing units for its students. Although this is an increase over recent years, it remains insufficient to accommodate the thousands of students studying in Luxembourg.

This year, the University is welcoming between 6,000 and 6,500 enrolled students. Approximately 70% of them are residents of Luxembourg and therefore will not encounter too many difficulties finding housing. That said though, closer accommodation to the campus remains interesting for students coming from the north of the country since, according to several testimonies, public transport, especially to the new Belval campus, takes awfully long and requires several transfers.

Many other students come from neighbouring countries and can cross the border in the morning and the evening. However, university accommodation remains in short supply.
