Housing prices up 4.5% in the European Union

A new press release from Eurostat reports on the differences in real estate prices between the 1st quarter of 2017 and the 1st quarter of 2016.

We can observe that the average price of housing has increased by 4% in the Eurozone, and by 4.5% in the European Union when compared to the same period in the previous year.

The highest increases recorded are located in the Czech Republic (+12.8%), Lithuania (+10.2%) and in Latvia (+10.1%).
However, in Croatia and Italy, housing prices have gone down (by 0.4% and 0.1% respectively).

With regard to Luxembourg and its neighbors, developments between the 1st quarter of 2017 and the same period in 2016:

  • +5.4% in Belgium
  • +5.1% in Germany
  • +3.1% in France
  • +6.8% in Luxembourg
