24 de febrero de 2017
Or so STATEC has declared. The National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies has released a new report which confirmed that a couple with two children would need almost € 4,000 to live happily in the Grand Duchy.
This amount is made up of €1,469, around 37% of the total budget, spent on housing, €883 spent on food, around 22%, social life takes up €548 or 14% of the budget, and €406 on transport, 10% of the total. That leaves €629 for clothing, the children, hygiene and health.
STATEC even points out that this budget of €3,935 is valid for a family which lives outside of the coveted City of Luxembourg and predominantly using public transport.
As far as housing is concerned, rent is more or less €1,200 for a home of around 100 m², the more or les €300 which remains goes on the costs and expenses linked to the home itself.
