• The Moselle Valley

From Schengen to Wasserbillig, the Moselle forms a natural border between Luxembourg and Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany). Along the valley, wine-growing villages and small medieval towns give a special charm to the region, where it's nice to go down the numerous biking trails and hiking paths.

• The Sûre Valley

With its source in Belgium, the Sûre runs 136 km in northern Luxembourg, from west to east, to join the Moselle in Wasserbillig. Its forested banks offer spectacular and relaxing natural scenery.

Near the Luxembourg village of Esch-sur-Sûre, a dam slows down the river to form the gorgeous Haute-Sûre Lake.

Like all around Luxembourg, lots of hiking and biking trails will let you discover the region. But on the Sûre, you can also enjoy boat tours to enjoy the valley's beauty:

• At Haute-Sûre Lake, take a solar-powered boat on a guided outing of about 2 hours. Commentary will include the ecology, fauna, flora, freshwater preservation and the dam, which you will hear on board while soaking in the majestic scenery offered by the valley.

• Another discovery tour, the "Amphibian Tour," which combines an outing on a boat and a walk on foot, will let you make a circle around the lake in about 4 hours.
